Some of the model 12's have a really tight pattern. Your best bet is to test it out and find what you effective range is with different loads. It should work just fine if you stay with in your kill...

I shoot a hoyt magnatec 70# with a 27 1/2 inch draw 28 inch 2315. 125 grain tip 547 grains total weight, on a scale. It comes off my bow at 231 f/s through a crono. My bow is at it' s max weight....

The only time i shot a deer in the neck was with a .270, and it was quartering towards me I hit thr far shoulder. With archery it is lungs or nothing.

I think you will find that Crimson Talon heads are not legal in ontario. Our regs on broadheads say straight unserrated blades only. Might be something to think about if you are coming to ontario to...

I sure hope it is a nice bow, I ordered mine today. The guy told me it would be in between 5 days and 2 months depending on whats in stock.The one I ordered is 27 inch draw @ 70lb.

Loads for a .270?

I would like to see if i can find a load for a .270. I do my own reloading and would like to find a load that would not do too much damage to the pelt.
