What kind of flashlight do you use to get to your stand?

I use a " Petzl" headlamp covered in red celophane for setting up my climber or finding gear in the dark at my stand site. Nothing better than hands free when you are trying to 20 things at once.
I also carry a very bright but small Diver' s light for tracking if necessary. It' s the same sort of intensity that you see from Tactical Firearms lights and is like a mini spotlight.
I was actually looking for that Streamlight " stylus" today and couldn' t find one. Sounds like a good alternative to wearing the Petzl as it will save room and weight.
I HATE standing out with a " white" light unless I' m looking for blood.

None...I have never used a flashlight going to my treestands in the morning. Why risk spooking deer? If you' re walking through the woods they may be curious, or perhaps uneasy but could easily dismiss it as something natural but if they see the light you' re done IMO. I' ve walked to within arm' s length of deer in the dark that I don' t think I would have seen if I would have been using a flashlight.

I use a browning clip-on light. It comes with a red filter and a green filter. I clip it to the visor of my cap when climbing and when needed while setting up. I try not to use it at all, but it is good to have your hands free.

I usually don' t turn one on unless I have to, but when I do it' s this little jewel. It has an amber LED that will illuminate the ground so you can see but not spook game. The main beam is really bright. It' s a cool little light. Syclone by Streamlight.

I use a very small mini-mag. The head band light is not good for going to your stand if you' re trying not to be seen. That light bounces off everything, trees, leaves, bushes. That can be seen for a long ways. If you want to use a flashlight to get to your stand just use it for the ground. Don' t point the flashlight up or ahead as little as possible. Also keep it low, pointed down and its pretty hard to detect it from a distance.
Good Luck!
