My dad put the 250gr real bullet to test a couple day ago on a 300lbish elk. It was a neck shot and dropped at the sound of the shot. Complete exit. Quarter size exit hole in the neck.

muzzle-loaders tested them. They still got a new crud ring. Stick with loose powder. More bang for your buck and no marketing gimmicks.

I wouldnt call that over pressure, just a typical slam fire type of rifle that doesnt hold the primer in place very snug. Some break actions today have loose " head space" and shoot the primer back...

Stay away from selling places like CA, NY, MA, Liberal states basically. Look through a cableas catalog and they state which states they will not ship to due to FFL of muzzleloaders.

Looks like max load is 89 grains and 1 1/4oz shot. Thats nice having the max load on the barrel. Never seen or heard of this one...

Nylon for me as well. They last a lot longer.

If you can clean straight through the barrel, bronze is really nice, especially for removing lead/plastic.

I went through this years ago. The fellow I spoke with fully agreed but sadly, said that powderbelt/cva will not come to an agreement, they want what sells, light weight, hollow point bullets.

The last time I asked ( many years ago ) I got some bs excuse that lead conicals can slide off the charge and thats the reason for the limit. But you can shoot any of the powerbelts of course ;)

Trying them out in my Traditions St Louis Hawken .50cal 1:48 twist with 70gr Pyrodex P, .490" chilled lead round balls and .020" patch.

Awesome accuracy so far, but now I see the accuracy starting...
