Default Barnes 275g Bushmaster -- 80g BH

jsteurrys sent (provided) this 275 grain Barnes TSX Bushmaster bullet.

The distance between the rifle, and the horse is 25 yard. The powder charge is 80 grain Blackhorn.

The bullet went through every bottle; hit the phone book, and lay on the ground there behind the horse.

Almost zero expansion and it still transferred enough energy to blow up 4 bottles. That should tell people that just a 45cal slug trucking through would still put the stuff on a whitetail.

You can kill a whitetail with a slingshot. Not a good test of a bullet.

This bullet failed.

Looking it up it appears to be a CF bullet.

I seems anytime he shoots over 100 grains of BH209 he gets better results with these sorts of bullets. But since this is only at 25 yards, I'd feel nervous about shooting out to 100 yards on an animal.
Ron, have you ever done a test like this at, say, 50 yards?
