After checking the internet the only rifle out there to me that is 100% compatible with the Rem 700 LSS, that would not be a step down would be a Sako 85 grey wolf and there you are going to pay more.

Its not a bad 1911. But I traded mine in for a Ruger 1911 and I like it a lot more.
The Ruger 1911 will eat anything I feed it. The Remington only liked cheap ammo anything good forget it.

Here I will make this simple go with the 300 mag. you’re not gaining that much with the 30-06 over your 270win.
Even if you do go with a 25-06 I would still go with a 300 mag.

I did not know we where recommending a caliber that rut was not looking at but where fornra did here I go. why not go for some real power a 340 wby mag. much better than a 338 win mag.

I am a big MAG fan so to me go with a MAG. You will be happier with a 300Win Mag or 300WSMfor hunting in the west more than you will ever be with your 30-06, but I am not saying the 30-06 will not do...

Don’t put a 308 in a Tikka if you are set on a Tikka go with a 25-06 or a 270 or 30-06.
