So, there's this Savage 110, 7 mag...

They're asking $275 for it. A guy brought it in to sell because his kid got in trouble and he needs the money. The shop owner figures it's 10 years old. The action is smooth, it's got a wood stock and looks pretty good. It hasa Universal 3x9 scope on it. I've never heard of Universal. The shop owner has shot it and says it's very accurate. My question is...Is it worth $275?

Universal was a Hialeah, Florida importer. Maybe related to the old Tasco importer. I had one on a .270 that worked well for many years and I think it has now become 'loose' inside. All of a sudden my groups opened up. I switched scopes and all was back to normal.
I have paid almost that much for Savage actions. Grab it up!

Well, I went ahead and got it. I think it's a pretty good buy. The scope will be coming off soon and replaced with a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40. Can't wait to shoot it. I'm going to take it coyote hunting next weekend. Overkill, to say the least, but I want to kill something with it.
