RE: SC Hunt Report

Do you really believe not talking about it on the Internet is going to stop out of state hunters? Maybe shortening your season or bag limits might discourage people or get rid of the NWTF...

SC Hunt Report

The birds gobbled good on the roost and for the first hour or so after they hit the ground. They are henned up though. No hen talk at all! Makes me think they are going straight to the gobblers.

RE: SOUTH CAROLINA HUNTERS

You'll need a 3 day non-resident and big game permit. Then you'll need to apply for free tags through the DNR or stop and pick them up at a store on your way down. Cost is $140

RE: Would you shoot it???

I took this off the NWTF facts site. It must also be noted that 10 to 20 percent of hens have beards.

It isn't really all that rare, often hens beards are so thin that most do not notice them...

RE: Would you shoot it???

I don't care if people shoot it or not, but it probably isn't a once in a lifetime chance. I believe something like one in seven hens are beared. Biology folks give me an exact number!!!

RE: Shot the wrong bird!!!

Yea, I just hate to kill a jake after taking some longbeards this season. It is a personal thing, and I would prefer not doing it. Especially when in the back of my mind I wasn't sure.
