Ft. Hood is down in texas right?? It wouldnt be too bad of a drive, but I dont know about the resident/non resident license unless you got your lifetime license before you were stationed down there....

I have been shooting the Lightfields hybred I think...white box anyway. They have done a great job and extremely lethal. I do want to try out the hornady slugs during the off season.

I took him out on Quannah Range. I was hunting area L2. a frind of mine took a buck also on L5 about 20 minutes before I took my deer. Did either of you have any luck out there this year?

Here is another company that I found that "metallizes" skulls. They look really good, but it can be pricey. For a skull that is already cleaned it is $170 for deer and for an unprepped head (hide on)...

If you are flying I would suggest a Pelican case. They are tough as nails and will protect your firearm against the most brutal luggage screener. They are expensive....but then so was your rifle....
