I just bought an Optima, my Encore never was very accurate (50 cal.) Did the 25 ACP fror the Optima, haven't shot it yet. If it works, will try it on my Encore............

Had a Rem 788 way back when, hot handload (22-250) stuck in chamber, opened the bolt and hit it with my hand trying to extract cartridge....bolt handle broke off of bolt...just welded on. Sold both...

I have an Encore( .50 cal black powder, 7mm-08, and 204 Ruger barrels, really like it! ) Also have a Rossi 223 and H&R Handi in 243, both very good guns for ur money.You will like either .......

270 WSM.............have had a 30-06, 7mm Rem Mag and a 270.........270 WSM is a GREAT round.....better choice than the others for deer and black bear....

What I've read lately and seen on TV, the 204 Ruger s an exceptional round. I have a 204 Encore rifle but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.......own a 223 and a 22-250 also....

I have a Winchester Super Shadow in 270 WSM, knocked a doe over backwards with one shot at 175 yards last season, can't wait for this year! ( 11-20-04 in Oklahoma )

I bought a Stoeger 2000 (Benelli copy) and it would jam with low power loads. Used a cotton swab and some Mobil One on bolt and reciever and haven't had a problem since.not a gas operated gun..

:)...well, love ny Winchester Model 70 Super Shadow in 270 WSM, but one gun would be my Thompson Encore.........204 Ruger, 7mm-08, and blackpowder barels ( so far!)
