Remington 710?

Its definatly not a gun you want to take to the range every week, but for 80% of the hunters that sight the gun in once a year, and then take one maybe two shots a year on deer, it works perfect.

Oh Yes another Remington 710 question. The 710 has gained more attention then probably any other gun here.Unfortunately on the negitive side. Now this is my opinion and take it for whatever it's worth. The 710 is one of the worst rifles I have ever looked at or handled.Do yourself a favor if you want to keep in the lower price range get yourself a Savage.A much better gun then the 710. If you want to get a Remington get the model 700. I like the Ruger M-77's but they are a bit more expensive. I think if you do get the 710 you'll end up regretting it.

RR You'll have to correct that statement! The Remington 710 is the worst "centerfire" rifle made! The Remington 597 may just be the worst rifle made, both Remingtons, of course!

JagMagMan, I stand corrected. There has been allot of talk about the Rem 597 also. When the 710 came up again I never thought about the POS 597.Remington needs to get their act together. They sure have turned out allot of garbage over the last several years.Maybe for someone as mentioned with a 710 who's only shooting it a few times a year it might be an acceptable rifle.I still wouldn't own one. Not when I could get a Savage for the same money or a Rem 700 ADL.I don't have this decision to make. When I want a New B/A it's almost always a Ruger M-77.I have other B/A's but I like my Ruger's the best.I did buy a Tikka Whitetail Hunter in 7mm RM. last year which I still haven't tried out.I'm impressed with it's craftsmanship of it,the range will make the final impression.
