Pyrodex is very hygroscopic - absorbs moisture from the air. It won't turn to goo by any means...but its burning properties will be affected..

Grandad gave my his rifle. It is a Enfield Pattern 17 in 30-06 Springfield. It has the BSA factory markings where it was ultimately assembled, but the individual components bear the Winchester "W" ....
