Default 1st BP deer!!!

I just have to post this. My 1st year with a Muzzle loader - a new Omega .50 stainless. 1st day of a week long hunt but only in the woods for 30 minutes (including walking to the stand). 3 does cross at 65 yards. 1 250 grain Hornady SST and 3 777 pellets later I'm up to my elbows in guts on the biggest one. Unreal.....I was back in camp before the morning coffee got cold.

By the way, the deer didnt even move after I hit it (except straight down) a real "post hole" shot if you will, and I actually thought I missed because when the smoke FINALLY cleared I couldnt see the deer on the ground nor did I ever hear a crash or see a running deer or anything else that would indicate a shot deer. It just fell over dead as a doornail - like I blew out a candle....amazing

Zoomer.. congratulations of the deer. The first Muzzleloading deer is always kind of special. See what happens when you practice and do everything right... So it sounds like you're sold on the SST's. Again, congratulations on a job well done.. now enjoy all that venison.
