Not seeing many deer yet. Did shoot a button buck on 10-12-07. Came in at first light and thought it was a doe. I hate that it was a button but I guess it happens

I have both a 50 cal and a 45 cal barrel for my Encore. In the 50 I shoot 2 pyrodex pellets with 295 gr powerbelt hp. In the 45 I shoot three pellets with a 200 gr dead center bullet.

I would suggest the 7mm, not much more recoil, and flatter shooting, however if you can tolerate the .300 win mag that would be my suggestion

I have used Tasco, Bushnell, Weaver, Redfield, Leupold, Swift, Simmons, and Nikon. I have never had a scope fail me but my favorites have been Leupold, Swift, Nikon

The a-bolt that I have done a good bit of shooting with is a 270wsm and I have never had this kind of problem. Sounds like a pretty crappy answer you got from Browning.

I would suggest the .243 but the .223 would be ok also. The limbsaver recoil pad is a wonderful thing and they have a new one out that will reduce recoil as well was muzzle jump. If you can tolerate...
