Early Season Attractant

What are some good cover scents or attractant to use for early season bow hunting? From Oct.1 till pre-rut. Or is that considered pre-rut? I hunt in Northeastern Indiana.

I have a new choke tube for my 12 ga. It specifies that I shoot only lead through it. Is copper coated ok for this choke tube? And does it mean anything but steel shot?
