I like the old "Elk Fever" with Larry Jones and Dwight Schuh. It was a little corny at times but I thought it showed some good hunt sequences with big bull elk.

Anything by Dan Fitzgerald. Down for the Count, Passing Thru, Corn Crazed Whitetails, Fight for the Right...I've never seen a bad video by Fitzgerald.
I do enjoy watching the Realtree videos if for nothing else simply the size of the deer.

Ill have to cast my vote for Tembo, staring Howard Hill. It's a classic that will never go out of style.A must see ,if you get the chance. The best scene was Howard baiting in a man eating croc,by having a boy sit in the water.Man talk about trust! LOL

You are correct. My mistake. It was Dan Jordan.
I was at the banquet last year too. We'll have to see about getting everyone together at a table next year.
It was that showing at the banquet that reminded me of how much I wanted to sit down with the movie again.
Hidden Hunter:
Tembo sounds like a worth while movie to invest in. One of the reasons those old movies are so great is that they were able to get away with stuff that no one would dare do today...i.e. using a little boy for bait
One thing I had heard about Howard Hill's films was that he did some things that would be considered unethical today, like shooting an elephant that was chained to a post (with out the chain or post being visible in the film. Do you know if this is true? This kind of trivia and history are what make these old movies so great.

I got about a hundred hunting videos and haven't seen or heard of most of those mentioned. Just when I said I'm not buying anymore..... someone gets you to thinking. This really sucks. I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to do it. I got to have a $3 garage sale someday.<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

The ones I watch the most times are.
1.Primos truth series
2.Dan Fitzgerald(Down for the count and,Passing through) excellent videos.
3.Roger Raglin videos(He seems to be more of a fair chase hunter and takes some bucks most average hunters can relate to.

I seriously doubt that there is any truth to that story, and it is probally propeganda.I never had the oppertunity to meet Howard Hill, but have talked to Steve Shultz, who Howard taught to shoot.Steve had the Highest regard for Howard, and couldn't sing his praises high enough.Without a doubt Howard was a class act,in his time! Just my opinion. One other note, upon reflection of the elephant hunt,If my memory serves me correctly, the Big Bull Elephant was really fired up when Howard hit him,and had hatred in his beastly heart towards Howard. It would have had to be one heck of a chain,to impede the progress of the beast.A tame elephant I doubt, would have shown that much agression, and probally would have just layed down and expired, with no agression being displayed.
