I am a beginner turkey hunter but have hunted all my life for deer and squirll. All I have left to buy is ammo. What would be the best. I plan on getting a extra full choke .660/.655. For my Rem. 870 12 gauge. I saw in Bass Pro that Rem. has a 4x6 shot three inch mag. shell. Is mixing a good idea? Are these any good? I don't know where to start and would like some good ideas? My state law requires that I use between 4 and 7 shot. Also is this the right choke to look for.

I'd go out to a range and pattern your gun at 30 and 40 yards with multiple targets of a turkey's head. See which one puts the most pellets in his neck and head and you've found the load that fits the gun and choke. For my 870 with an extra full choke I shoot 3" #4s.
