Well i have made 6inch ( 5 shots per group ) groups at 500 yards before. So yeah i say max is maybe more like 450 yards. I am a pretty good shot. At least that is what i am told.

yeah out here in MO i take 25-500 yard shots so i use a 130 grain core lokt. work's great. even for shooting for fun at 700-800. drops the buck every single time. but i am shooting a 270.

yeah went out looking again today. and nothing. it is pretty brushy up there had my freind come out and took the coon dog and still got nothing. i've covered a good 500yd's around the whole stand....

well your prolly right it probably is shoot about 200fps. but i can't make 15yd shot's anyway where i'm hunting. so it doesn't really matter.
