Wow..I had a simular experience..I watched a very nice buck bed down less than 20 yds away but no shooting lane at him...He stayed for over an hour..It was about 15 out and I was frozen...Wouldn't...

I too hunt in a "city"..It is a bow only area around the capital of NY..I can see many homes right out of my stands...I have taken two P&Y bucks from these small patches of woods in the last three...

Just sent one to the taxi...Charges 450 + tax...Seems to be the going rate for a good one...Paid less a few years ago but the guy used it at several shows so he gave me a break...

The area where I hunt is loaded with honeysuckle...they feed on them until the leaves drop...As soon as the leaves drop the deer are gone...The simply move on...It is weird but they really do like...

I agree with many of the posts here...I only rifle hunt on opening day and then go back to bow...many of the deer that get taken on opening day aree ones I pass on during bow season...I do not get...

I mounted my first buck with a bow...He went 127 5/8 ...I am having this years mounted as he is over 125" and makes our State book...Had to be talked into having him mounted and decided to do so...

Wow...nice buck...I practice from my tree stand and throw out tennis balls and then try to judge the distance...Of course I do not hunt with these arrows again but it does help with guessing...

Yes...happens all of the time...I was lucky one year and took a 130 class the same way...He was coming straight at my tree as I was pulling my bow up...thank god his nose was on the ground and he did...

I too keep both eyes open with my peep..Took some practice but you can actually see your hit...I also draw above the target and lower my pin to the vitals...

186# Dressed...For our area of upstate NY that is huge...Usually they run 130# or so...125" ia the gross score...The taxidermist roughed scored it for me as I was on the fence as to have it...

Update...I just picked up my buck from the butcher...Got back my expandiable broadhead and about three inches of arrow shaft that matches up to my broken carbon Arrow....(he was using thunderheads...

Uses a 308 in a bow Zone...Have made a call..they said they would investigate...Last year I watched a real slammer all summer..Hit into him but way low...he was still running several weeks...

I know guys like that...There is one who has a feeder with a trip light...the light goes on and he shoots the bucks at the feeder, then he has nerve enough to show them off, have them mounted...
