I hunt rabbits over Bassets, not Beagles. But I just love my Stoeger .410 SxS. It's light. Easy to carry. Comes up to the shoulder great, and I can't seem to miss with it.

Good luck with that. I would suggest getting a coonhound. Basset Hounds, if from hunting stock are rabbit dogs.
