Last Saturday, the 14th, I made the long 16 hour 'round trip from northern Michigan to south-central Indiana to pick up this 6-week old cutie.
Both the sire & dam are Grand Rabbit Champions in the A.H.B.A. (American Hunting Basset Association), an off-shoot of the A.R.H.A. that runs SPO competition hunts.
I have high hopes for him.

Love those ears. I grew up with hounds. Bassett's first then Beagles. Still love those velvet ears though.

I have yet to see a bassett run a rabbit, but I sure want to someday. Good luck with your pup!

That is an adorable little basset hound. I can barely remember when mine was that small. Have fun with him, they are fun loving and personable dogs. I know that it is said that all dogs have their own personality, but I think that bassets are in a class of their own there.

Good luck w/ him, I've never ran bassets on rabbits, but have over a dozen beagles that will burn a rabbit up. Not much in this world is more fun than listening to a good rabbit race!
