I agree with what has been said a few times already, Precision Rifle. I am sure there are other shooters out there but I doubt there are many that will shoot as accurately and perform as well on this animal as their 195 grain Dead Center bullet.

Just yesterday took a doe at 90 yards, using 275gr Powerbelt Aerotip in .45 caliber. I have been practicing out to 100 yards with just under 3" groups at this distance. I think they are a little pricey, but I can get them locally without having to order them through the mail. I have also tried the powerbelts in my .50 cal. gun and had good results also. I like them and have had good success with them, they' re accurate, easy loading, and perform great on deer from my experience.

I don' t shoot 45 cal, but powerbelts do well in my 50 cal.
I recently shifted from 245 grain w/ 100 grains of 777 to 295 grain with 90 grains of pyrodex (I ran out of 777 in the middle of a hunt) and it got more accurate! Easy 2 inch groups at 100 yards. I would not try this load at 200 yards though, it just looses too much energy.

I shoot prbullets out of my T/C encore 240 grains with 3-50 pyro pellets, and I shot a 200lbs doe through the hart half inch entrence 2inch exit at 70 yards, and 5 days later I took my buck of a lifetime at 80yards with the same combination and the bullet went through both shoulders and logded on the skin on the other side and retained 145grains going through all that bone the buck managed to push it self 30 yards before dieing. Oh yia the buck field dressed out at 270lbs, now you know Iam very happy with prbullets they shoot accurate and they perform excellent from what i have seen.

I like the Barnes expander. It shoots very accurately out of my gun and it seems to massacre the deer that i shoot. They usually just drop right in thear tracks when I shoot them. However, i shoot a .50 caliber instead of a .45. I don't know how they will work out of a .45. I do know that if they work half as good as the ones that i shoot do, They are impressive bullets. They are the only bullet that I would take into the woods. I use the 250grain bullet. I tried the 300grain and did not like it as much. There is a line of Barnes expanders for the .45 mz also. Hope this helps.

Lonewolf,
I thought the same two weeks ago. I have since shot two deer and am beginning to question the dead center. I shot a buck at about 15yds and a doe at 20yds. with a Knight disc .50 with 100 grains of triple seven and a 250 dead center. Neither bullets went through the deer and there was almost no blood.
I am now testing the Knight red hots.
