Deer hunting Bullets

What is the prefered hunting bullets in 45 cal, looking for it to be easy to load, and accurate.

Powerbelts, Barnes, Hornady XTP or something else, what grain bullet, heavy for the extra energy or light for flat shooting, not a lot of choices for the 45 available in the local retail stores

I currently shoot 195 grain Powerbelts with 100 grains of pyrodex and it shoots well

Wondering if the track record is good on Powerbelts, its a one shot deal

Most shooting 100 yards or less but I have some open shots out to about 200 but probally wouldn' t try anything like that.

Thats what I' m kind of asking, what kind hnock down power do these rifles have. On paper everything looks good but real world is different.

No matter what if I can' t get a clean 1 shot kill I wouldn' ' t take it

=============================================

I' m a little confused here. Since you' re shooting 195 grain Powerbelts made for 45 caliber rifles & you are looking for a hunting bullet in 45 caliber, you must shoot a conical or look for a hunting " sabot" bullet in .40 caliber or .357 caliber.

Either way, poster Lonewolf got it right in his post above....

Sorry Guys

My mistake as Triple Se7en pointed out I phrased my question incorrectly

What I was looking for is a bullet to fire thru my Omega 45 cal rifle
so that would be a 45 cal conical or a sabot in a smaller cal bullet

I appreciate the input and welcome input from others

You might try the sst or shock wave in 200 gr,they shoot better than the Pression bullet in my encore.Shot my first deer using the sst @40 yds bullet size hole going in and hole about the size of a 50 cent piece, shot it behind the shoulder and it ran about 30 yds but left a blood trail you could see from a distance.

Well I use a 50 cal with the Hornady XTP' s have tipped over most of the game I have shot on the spot and the ones that did muster a run only made it a few yards.

Barnes just came out with a smaller version of the Expander lineup that they have had out for 50 caliber guns/ I thikn its a 195 or 200 grain version for 45 calibers................this bulett is deadly on deer. Great holes and flight. Hard to beat in my opinion.

IF it shoots well with these, use them! BUT, due to the low S.D. of this bullet, shoot BEHIND the shoulder, where the bullet can go completely through both lungs! DO NOT expect a deer to drop on the spot from ANY KIND OF HIT FROM ANY GUN!! They MIGHT, but the best you can hope for is a short tracking job, and a good blood trail!! I' ve seen good hits from 12-ga shotgun slugs that didn' t drop small does in their tracks, and didn' t leave a lot of blood either. But, even a pure lead round ball in the right place will leave some blood. A 180-grain lead ball from a .50 will often make a softball-size entrance and a thumb-size exit hole (just the opposite of a modern rifle) if it goes through both lungs behind the shoulder, and you should see the blood trail from such a hit!
