Congrats Nimer! Fine looking caribou... lots a points! Glad to see your having success on your long time off! Good luck on the rest of your hunts.
Dang phone rang three times last night. First time about 2am, then again at 5:20am and I answered it. It was some spanish speaking lady... I said wrong number, and hung up. She called back about 5 minutes later so I told the wife to answer because she knows some spanish. Well she answers, and I hear this " no habla espanoel" Las Telephono es wrongo" " Es Pollen Residenco" and she hung up. And I thought she knew spanish! I guess it was early, so I' ll give her some slack.
Hey, at least they haven' t called back!

Nim - That' s a pretty nice looking animal - a little deformed, but nice! Congratulations on a great animal! With the big knob. . .er, ball, or whatever in front of his left ear, you should have been able to sneak right up on him from that side - LOL! Holy smokes, that grizzly sounded bound and determined to put tooth marks on some of your equipment!! [

SEAK - That is one heck of a picture of your daughter and her buck! Congratulations to the both of you - that' s going to be some fine, mild-tasting eating - taken this time of the year. I saw a nice forkie on the beach above Halibut Cove on North Shelter last week, but all I could throw at it were obscene gestures since I left the rifle at home. BTW, that sticks and strings goose shooting sounds like a lot of fun - keep up the good work! What kind of tips are you using to bring them down?
ABM - I feel sorry for you being down in Vegas and we' re up north here having fun killing critters and tantalizing you with stories and pictures. With any luck there will still be some geese around when you get back up there. Sounds like you have some good hunts planned for later down south. I' ve got a son-in-law chasing elk in Oregon right now, and I' m hoping he connects so I can swap for an elk roast or two!

phish-on - my firend that has the horses got back a few days ago. they only saw 5 caribou close and only one bull they were able to get it, and a black bear. appearently the herd was on the wrong side of the killey river gorge on the snow pack there since the snow pack had melted on the accessable side. seak is using broadheads for the geese. that is pretty phenomenal to get that many geese with a bow.

Hi All,
SeAk is out chasing geese again tonight....I, on the other hand, am chasing nothing. VBM, SeAk told me to tell you I get to have a special shoe like you too. Had surgery on my achilles tendon on Monday....don' t know how I' d survive without SeAk' s sisters taking care of me! As soon as this one is better, I get to have surgery on the other achilles. Hopefully I' ll be up, around, and healthy by bear season!

You better be ready to go for bear season! I had my special shoe on when we went out bear hunting in 2002 though from my foot injury. I had a slight home remodle accident and found that a sock isn' t enough to support the weight of a 25 pound skill saw falling off a washing machine. Almost a year and a half later and I still have a bump there.

I hope your tendons heal nicely and you' ll be able to keep up when we' re running from the brownies.
Old SEAK is having a little too much fun up there. I' ll be focusing on caribou when I head back up next week. I talked to SEAK the other day about the spring time... can' t wait!!!
Take care of the foot!

Ouch!! That doesn' t look fun! I have about a 2 1/2 inch Frankenstein wound on the inside of my right achilles. Still hurts like a son of a gun, but am seeming a little better every day. God help me, though, when I' m late taking my Advil. Took a little while this morning to kick in. I found out the other day that my mother, who was trekking in Switzerland with friends, tripped and shattered her wrist. She' s now lounging for a week in a Swiss hospital while her wrist starts to heal. Thank heavens she wasn' t in a third-world country. She had the chief of orthopedic surgery put the many many pieces back together, and is now sporting a plate and several pins. I' m calling it her Swiss Army Wrist.
She' s feeling great though, and her friends, who went on to Austria, are returning to spring her from the hospital next week, then they' ll continue on with their trip!
I' m actually hoping to get in some duck or deer hunting when SeAk and the kids are here in November, then will have the left achilles done in December... THEN I' ll be ready for the bear hunting!!
