Love my Remington 597-got a little Simmons 4x scope on see through rings-very accurate little .22-I've shot a lot of squirrels and rabbits with that rifle. Think I'm in it maybe just over 200 bucks.

I've got some Speer 130gr JHPs that do the job. 47 grs of IMR 4064 is a middle of the road load at 2943 fps. 47 grs of IMR 4895 is a max load at 2923 fps.

One of the better "hot loads" I use in my Ruger SBH is 2400. I believe it's 20 gr with a 240 gr semi wadcutter, I'd have to check.

Winchester Wildcat is good,CCI Mini Mags are excellent. I have a Marlin 39a, a Remington 597, and several Colt revolvers and they all love CCI.

Haven't tried BH in mine, but it does shoot well with 100gr pyrodex pellets and either a 250 gr Shockwave or a 245 gr ballistic tip Powerbelt. Same bullets with 90 or 100gr of Pyrodex RS works even...

I've only been muzzleloading for about a year and all I've used is "shotgun" primers. Maybe I'm too dumb to know the difference but they seem to work just fine for me.

Bought mine about 5 years ago, never had a hiccup. The rifle shoots so straight I put my 4x32 on see through rings and use the iron sights probably 75% of the time. Excellent rifle, love it.
