thats exactly how i cook it. its a tradition with me and the kids to eat the heart the same night as the harvest. i have to fight the kids just to get a piece. and the liver stays for the foxes lol

dont know of any public land. since i work at apg i hunt the areas that are behind the fence. you have to pass a back ground check and buy a seperate license just to hunt down there.

the bad part is we have to hunt maryland to see bucks like that. iv hunted pa most of my adult life and to see bucks this caliber are rare. at least its only a 10 minute drive to maryland to hunt but...

i shot him in harford county. the place i hunt is a little 20 acre mixed woods and field owned by some good friends of mine. the maryland / penn state line runs about 250 yds from where my stand is....

took this nice 8 pt. on sat opener at 6:40 am. 18 in inside spread and dressed 140 lbs. this is my best so far and very happy. took him with my 20 ga. ultra slugger at 25 yds. he was really wheezing...

i got mine at 6:38 this mnorning , he was trailing a doe and stopped 25 yds away. 19"spread dressed 140 lbs

took the boy out today and he did great. got his first black duck and wood duck. also got a mallard and a goose. i think i had more fun than he did and i never even touched the gun lol:):D

myself i would say mid 140s but i havent seen him in last 3 weeks. i do know they have gotten a 8 pt that grossed 154 last week and a 10 pt that grossed 150 since season opened. both of those bucks...

i know guys who purposely cut strands out to make thier bows faster. several fellas would take a 20 strand make it a 16. so one strand shouldnt bother at all. plus with bow season here u dont need...

all 3 of the guys i hunt with are using the pattern masters. im not that impressed with them. im using a benneli mod choke in my gun and think it shoots just as well as thiers.
