RE: Lab aggresion...

Agression in a lab?--my wife had a wonderful female black lab that was murderous for its first few years. Fought with any and all comers, bit several people when they approached my wife or her...

RE: Slob Hunters!

I know of a good guy, duck hunter much of his single adult life, loves his 2 retrievers. He got married, wife won't cook or eat his waterfowl, he doesn't have much opportunity to eat his own, since...

Lymes Vaccine Safe?

I just read the lymes vaccine post and wanted to ask for some input.

Several years ago I made the decision not to vaccinate my dogs. I didn't vaccinate for Lymes for two reasons--1) one...

RE: neoprene vs canvas

Neoprene are more expensive, more comfortable, and maybe a little harder to get into and out of (if you have a little extra insulation). They don't last as long as canvas, especially if you walk...

RE: Recue Centers

You have to put yourself in their position. They are focused on the good of the dog. Let's say 2 applications come in, yours and anone else's. Let's assume they haven't run through so many dogs. ...

RE: 16ga???

It won't be quite as good for pass shooting the doves, but it will suffice. You will be faced with less selection and slightly higher costs for shells with the 16. I like mine for quail, grouse,...

German Wirehaired pointers and Drahthaars

I'm looking at this breed (s) (depending on who you talk to) as a versatile hunting dor, able to retrieve waterfowl, track wonded deer, and work upland birds. I'd appreciate andy info, opinions,...

RE: Size of shell and shot that you use...

#2 for geese and #4 for ducks with heavishot in 3 1/2 shells--it only works when I hit the target, but at 40 yds with 75% choke, the pattern wouldn't let a teal through! Unfortuantely, a load like...

RE: GSP Tracking and finding wounded deer??

There is a whole school of blood tracking for the German breeds--some are trained to lead you to the downed deer, some are trained to stay with the deer and bark/bay until your arrival. Try...
