I use my bolt .410 in the earliest part of the season when the leaves are still on the trees. Usually you don't have much time to aim before the squirrel is lost in the leaves. After the leaves...

B-Square is probably going to be your best bet for that kind of scope base. I just got one for my Ruger .22 revolver. They work wonderfully.

I've lost 2 or 3 squirrels over the years either from not finding where they drop, or from them getting stuck high up in the tree. I hate it when it happens, but it isn't very often.

In addition to the other .22s mentioned, I would recommend a Smith & Wesson model 22a or model 41 depending on how much $ you want to spend. The 22a is a clone of the 41 and costs about 1/4 of the...

Mine came with the extra cylinder for 22 mag too. I don't think you gain a whole lot with the mag, but they are a lot louder, and a lot more expensive. Some people swear by the mag and it works out...

Squirrel hunting with handguns

I know the majority of squirrel hunters use a .22 rifle, and most others use a shotgun. This year I have started using a .22 revolver to shoot these critters. Over the last few years I have missed...

While it isn't the way I would like to hunt, it is for some people. We must remember that years ago using a scope was considered an unfair advantage, and before that repeating guns were. We can...

It just depends on how old your gun is. If it is more than 20 years old I would not recommend shooting steel shot in it. Most guns that old just weren't made to handle steel. Although it is quite...
