Deer Eating Acorns(delaware)

are the deer still keying on the acorns guys??? i would think in the areas where there arent many acorns that they would hit the trees anytime of the day. what do u think???

Lemond33, Their still hitting the acorns pretty hard. Hunted a seclude patch last night and had three small bucks and 14 does come in between 4pm and 6:30 (may have been more later but I shot a big doe at 6:30). Good luck!

ok...i have finally found a few trees where i am hunting. i will be hunting the spot in the coming week...if i can. the powder shooters will be out..i think?? could be hairy. i found a tree that had really dark corns on it...are they eating thosse too. there was sign there. will they hit those trees during the early mornings while coming from the fields??? thanks dbob

lemond, I have best luck hunting oaks in the afternoon. The deer stage there before moving onto other food sources (e.g. fields). I have best luck hunting white oaks. The bark is light grey and shaggy farther up the tree trunk. The acorns are about an inch long and oval. They eat 'em green or brown. They are really falling lately with all the wind. Good luck!
