So crossbow are legal now......

Hey it was a bible parable....take it up with the author. It just fit the occasion.
If you can't show me anything I asked for then you have no reason to talk down to anyone without proof. Your childish lies are getting old. Unless you can show the xbow will harm bow hunting....that they are unsafe....that they are a longer range weapon than the bow.....That they will decimate deer populations....then we are done. You have zero answers only propaganda. It's been fun. I hope the xbowers save a deer for you ....good luck.

I don't know about some of you guys but this thread reminds me of the old HNI when it was really popping. Classical Stealthy vs BC. What's not to love. Brad your style is a bit rusty. God help you if you go into Vc's lair. You would do much better getting your original name back. Kind of like sampson's hair or superman's cape. Figures...it would be something like a crossbow to lure you out of exile. I suppose we will be seeing some posting about pitbulls next.

I DON"T hunt with WHATEVER I choose,I started hunting with what options where available.
The point i'm trying to make is that if the only reason someone would decide to BECOME a hunter is only if a specific weapon can be used, with the options that are already available.Then hunting is not what i feel their really interested in, sounds to me like they just want to kill something with their weapon,and HUNTING my freind is not just about KILLING something.
And YOU were the one that was crying earlier about xbows bringing more people to hunting,are those the kinda of people you think our sport needs,I don't.
And again xbows should have their own season,just like muzzleloaders have there own.

Ky, I have showed you, I have been respectful and have answered every question you put before me. You have not. You have dodged questions. You have outright lied thru your teeth.
I showed you the beginning of archery seasons, showed you my reasons for my belief. I have showed you examples on how I personally feel they can be unsafe in a manner that most arrowgun users use them. I have pointed out to you that holding a 100-250lb device is unsafe. You ignored it.
You then try to go to range, (not me, you), I showed you example after example of how they do have more range. You then go to stability and KE. I didn't go there, you did. I can show you. You kept telling me you could show me proof how they loose energy faster. You said complete bogus statements and told me thats physics. I was patient, and tried to have a conversation with you about it. You ignored it. You went off on some tangent saying the arrowgun had short stroke and less KE. Total bogus. I showed you how they are not and they made up for it with extra draw wieght. I promise you can show you where you said it. You ignored it. I questioned you with examples, and you clearly do not comprehend Newtons laws. You ignored it.
I am being serious here. How would you feel if I came on here and told you about papermaking? Posted someone else's opinions from the internet, yet never in my life knew anything about papermaking? How would you reply? Would you sit here and pour out your experience showing me detailed step by step where I am wrong? Or would you take the opinion of some nameless, faceless poster from an internet forum when you have worked and breathed papermaking for decades? But thats exactly what you did to me. But you sat here and lied.
What kinda person does that make you? But yet, your going to come on here and scream that you treated everyone so nice and your such the victim here.

Not much of this makes sense but OK.....And by the way the xbow does have it's own season....and it just got longer in many places and will get longer in others soon.
Plus, why is it up to you why anyone would choose to become a hunter. Shouldn't that be up to them ?

Its called vertigo or fullofpoopio or something like that and will need to shoot a arrowgun this year. And he broke his zipper limbs because he sat it in the rain or some craziness like that.

Nope, I try never to mix God's word with an argument. Just ain't right. I have always had pride in Ky folk that they knew better than to do such foolishness. Guess thats only the eastern side.

God was never used in this argument. Just a story that was like the one from the bible. If you want to make it out like I was dishonoring God then you lie.
I have not lied once.
"You told me personally how "you" feel they are unsafe"....this part is true but there is zero facts to back this up. Like you told me "people put their own spin on things" and that's all you did. Zero facts.
Here is a part of a crossbow article I read just a few minutes ago about range...it was in this months North American Whitetail.....
"The higher draw weight of a crossbow in necessary because it has a much shorter power stroke. The shorter power stroke means that less kinetic energy is being stored in the arrow when shot. Therefore, even with the heavier draw weight, the arrow flight and speed from a crossbow are equal to or less than that of a vertical bow; and regardless of the speed, a crossbow arrow will always drop faster than a vertical bow.
Sound just like what I said and you argue against doesn't it Mr. Engineer. I know you will say it's a lie but why would they make it sound worse for the xbow if it's a pro xbow piece. It also stated that shots over 40 yards are taboo by ethical xbow hunters because of the rapid loss of speed. Pick up a copy and read it yourself.

Ok, lets start there. Do you agree with these equations? If you do agree, these are the basics for Newtons law. These are the basics and start for bernoulli's equation and fluid and gas dynamics.
KE=mv^2
V=Vo+accT
Acc=F/m
F=d/dt*(mv)
Drag Force Equation F = 0.5 C ρA V2
Notation
(ft=feet, g=gram, hr=hour, kg=kilogram, lb=Pound (force), m=meter, N=Newton, s=second)
Our calculation allows you to use a variety of units with all of the conversions completed internally. The units below are consistent units for the drag force equation.
Acc=Acceleration (m/s^2 or f/s^2)
A = Reference area as (see figures above), m2.
C = Drag coefficient (see figures above), unitless.
F = Drag force, N.
V = Velocity, m/s.
ρ = Density of fluid (liquid or gas), kg/m3.
Acceleration is a function of the sum of drag coef. of both air of an arrow in flight and arrow itself. In other words, its negative, it never gains speed after it leaves the string. Acc is positive as the Fstring is pushing on the arrow or bolt until it release that arrow or bolt. If both projectiles have the same drag as shown with the Fd (force of drag), it is phsically impossible for the bolt to drop quicker. Unless in the article the bolt is heavier, fatter diameter, fatter head, larger fletch (i.e. more drag). And it could be. The only thing that could get the bolt to drop faster is gravity due to more wieght or more drag.
So in the article did they claim to have the same wieght, same diameter shaft, same fletch same point? Its that simple. Work with me. Does it specify?
I promise, I will not be rude, I will not call you dumb, I will treat you with respect, I will work out this problem and prove to you with elementary math and well known and accepted physics. Just work with me. What makes this arthor so much more an authority on this? We as humans don't have to be sheep, we can figure out stuff for ourselves.

I guess you are familiar with the parable of the Workers in the Vineyard....you know... the worker that worked all day got paid the same as the ones working a few hours. The ones that had to work all day felt they were cheated because the other guys got a better deal. Its not that they were cheated but the fact that someone else got a better deal that made them so mad....Sounds just like the complaint you have.
Boy I'm glad your not my preacher! Two differnet things. It still doesn't change the fact that X bow hunters are not freaking archers!

But what is fact, is that it IS legal archery equip, equal to a compound/longbow.
Technology exploded with the compounds the last 15 years. What's It going to do now with the xbow? It's going to go nuts there too. In my opinion bowhunting has taking a huge turn for the worse with all of this technology.
Where do you draw the line at? Technology sucks at times.
