Obviously you and Charlie P can shoot any animal that is legal and that is your perogative.
Actually I haven't shot a buck in two years, but if I decide to I don't think I should be forced not to. See that's the difference I want people to be able to make a choice you don't.

that's my perogative until you and others decide I can't enjoy the woods how I want, right? Then I have to do something you enjoy even though I have done it and really didn't enjoy it that much.

I guarantee that there are many folks here that wouldn't bring either of you into their hunting area's with them being aware of an intent to kill a 1.5 year old buck!
That's fine because if I can't go and scout out my own spots and figure out the land I really don't get that much out of the hunt anyway. If someone said to me here's your tree just wait until something bigs walks by I'd proably be out of there by lunch.

That was the point that I was making that by letting 1.5 year old bucks walk, hunters are creating greater opportunity for younger or inexperienced hunters.
If there is the same amount of deer in the woods there are the same amount of oppurtunities.

Please explain how shooting all the little ones helps
You need to explain your statement first.

As you have said and I totally agree we have put are hand in the wild herd way to much.
Without question.

If you can get bucks of your mind and look at the big picture things would be clearer for you. Let go of your fear

You sound like Darth Vader.

For a guy who does not like big bucks you sure do think about them a lot. You:

Enter a big buck contest
Save your antlers and mount your nices deer, hmmmm
Why on earth would you ever say I don't like big bucks?? You've got some serious wires crossed if you think that.

QDM
Does not say shoot the dominant animal
Yea........I'm sure they all would let him walk

Eating by those QBM bunnies you are so worried about
Still don't have the nerve to answer it huh??

I shot one last year, guess what there is another one
If someone said that about a young buck the QDM soldiers would be up in arms. You continually fail to see this point.

Deer Atlas Deer
What about them??..........why are they so special that groups of hunters band together and crusade for the sparing of the young males. Why not other animals??............Why not does??

Big surprise.............I get this from guys who can't back up their BS all the time. Avoid the topic and toss out a bunch of distractions. It's like a reflex when you call someone's bluff.

Someone please explain this.................what difference does it make if I and/or anyone else shoots a buck when he is 1.5 or 3.5?? It is still 1 dead buck that you didn't get and someone else did. No matter how big he was when he was killed once he is dead he is just one deer.

Now say you had a total cease fire on ALL bucks for 2 years and then resumed hunting them. All the 1.5 bucks will now be 3.5 and they will all get killed just the same. You have simply exchanged a pile of 1.5 bucks for a pile of 3.5 bucks. Does this somehow make you feel like a better hunter or that you have accomplished something greater?? Doesn't make sense.

The only thing "management" programs or TDM/QDM, or AR do is make the average deer taken a little bigger.............are we so desperate that we need to artificially inflate our egos this way??

How hard is it to understand that you kill what is out there...........a 3.5 yr old buck in Iowa is no big deal because there are plenty out there. In my area a 1.5 yr old buck is no big deal because there are plenty out there. If you want a serious challenge in Iowa go chase a 5 or 6 yr old...........in NY go after a 3 or 4 yr old. The odd ball needle in a haystack challenge is available in EVERY state (each different) if you want it..........Why on earth anyone feels the need to try and change a whole state to better their odds is a mystery to me.

In areas with under population QDM calls for not shooting does You need to read a bit more

Well lets see

Pheasants Forever
Ducks Unlimited
Rocky Moutain Elk Foundation.

All these groups work to help hunting. Are you going to form Bunnies Forever All have management programs that are differnet. Because they are different animals.[&:]

Do I think MI deer herd today is health? Yes!! I also believe we can take steps to ensure hunting for the future. Does that mean following QDM like robots, no. Does that mean trying some steps to help? Yes! Small steps Atlas. It will be OK

Your DNR(DEC) and hunters need to work together. DEC is going to choose a management plan and one group is not going to like it or just maybe you guys can both let down your guard and talk it out.

Or just keep whining on the Internet about it, i am sure that helps

Funny still wating for you to prove your first statement. You went right to reflex mode there. Than youask about bunnies I gave you your answer 4 pages ago. No vision

Here it is again

If deer did not have antlers they would be considered a nuisance animal and wiped out by us They Antlers are what make deer worth hunting Which is why even you:

Mount them
Enter Big Buck Contest
Come on this board and tell your stories about killingone of the biggest bucks in your woods

Now I suggest if and when you speak in public keep the bunnies anaolgy out of your speech. You're a smart guy, no reason to dumb yourself down

We have herd your tired whining before, do something about it.
