I havent shot them, nor do i plan to
I shot 4 deer with the SST's, they all went through except one
If you had actually used ballistic tips on game ,you probably would have discovered that they perform virtually identical to the sst's.

I've used the ballistic tips on a few deer and do not like them. Although they killed the deer they broke up soon after impact. Give me a box of bonded Hornady cartridges any day.

Stubble, why would i have any reason to shoot winchester? hornady is the most reliable factory made ammunition you can buy. I'm sure the SST is similar to the winchester ballistic head. It breaks up farily easy when hitting a hard bone. Thats why i switched to the Interbond. I get the strength of a Hornady Interlock bullet with the bullet flight of a polymer tip. That interbond will kill alot bigger game than that winchester ballistic tip with more efficiency. Hands down, hornady makes the best factory ammunition. Nobody else is superior.

I never suggested that you shoot winchester. The ballistic tip bullet is made by nosler and is loaded by several ammunition companies including federal, remington and winchester and is very popular with handloaders. My point was that you stated that you would not use the ballistic tip but that the sst's performed well for you on the deer that you shot. The vast majority of people that have used both the sst's and ballistic tips on game found that they performed virtually identical to each other, so the ballistic tip would most likely have worked just as well for you as the sst. Both the interbond or accubond are bonded bullets and both should hold together better than either the ballistic tip or sst.

I Love the ballistic tips in my 300 win mag. They dont even move...except straight down. Good bullet. Rarely exits so I assume I am getting great expansion.
