i have a 27 in draw and was wondering about the mighty mite from bowtech and the patriot.i know one has a 3/4 in brace height difference but also a 3 in a/a length difference.which would you go with as far as my draw length.i know the patriot has a different draw cycle than the mighty mite.as far as valley which one is better.i know they have the same cam but i figured since the draw cycle was different the valley may be also. right now i only intend on shooting about 62 lbs.do you think i could get that out of a set of 60 lb limbs or should i go with the 70 lb limb and back down or do you think that would effect the profiency of the bow to much?

The new Bowtechs (VFT) have pivoting limb pockets, so dropping down your DW on a 70 lb bow shouldn't effect the "optimum" performance of the bow. Knowing that, I would opt for the 70lb models. As far as the choice b/w a Patriot or MM - that is all about preferences. I am very satisfied with my MM, but probably would have been just as happy with the Patriot. Either way - you are going to have a great quality bow, and EXCELLENT customer service

Considering your situation I would probably opt for a 60 lb Patriot. My reasoning is simple. Most 60 lb Bowtechs will peak right between 61 and 62 lbs. The Patriot is a bit faster than the MM VFT and with a 27 inch draw length I would think that the slightly faster speed rating would give you a little bit "extra" level of KE and momentum when comparing it to the MM VFT.
Hope this helps.

I would also suggest the Patriot over the MM.
I don't really notice much of a difference in draw cycle between the two of them though.

I currently own a 2002 Mighty Mite and love the bow, however a friend of mine loves it too so we made a deal and I am in the exact same situation that you are in . I have a 27" draw also and I have made up my mind to get a new Patriot. The shorter brace height should not be a factor due to the longer A2A and our shorter draw cycle, in fact it could be and advantage to picking up a little more speed without giving up forgiveness.

Gentlemen,
I am new to this forum, but for what its worth I did a decision matrix using a number of courses of action (different bows) comparing them using a number of criterea such as speed, price, forgiveness rating, AtA length, weight, etc. The Mighty Mite won out BIG TIME over the Patriot, Justice, the Buckmasters G2 and the Matthews Outback.
I have not finished shooting these bows to add that into the mix, however the decision matrix I used is designed to take emotion out of the equation. Again, it wasn't even close.
Having said all of that, I am not sure I will get the MM as I haven't shot it yet. But if I believe the reports I am gettign from friends and other bowhunters, they maintain I will love it. No negative reports yet.
Hope this helps, I guess all of your tax dollars on my Army training didn't go to waste!

My wife has the '04 Patriot VFT in 60 pound draw but shoots it at 55 pounds and 26 inch draw. When new, out of the box it did an even 280 fps,,, as many times as I wanted to with a 300 grain arrow through my chrono.
Here's a group she shot today from 40 yards
This is one very quiet bow and I believe that the pivoting limb pockets help to keep it quiet when turned down off of max draw weight.
