Default BowTech, Not Backing Dealers

I'm not a Bowtech shooter, but they do make a quality bow.

I was at my friends proshop today when a customer brought in his Bowtech for replacement limbs (recall), this was the 6th bow brought in for replacement. I asked my friend if he and the other dealers are being taking care of by Bowtech, he looked over at me and said:

"No they aren't taking care of us. We sold bows in good faith, they have problems so we have to replace the limbs, take the whole bow apart, then back together to the customers specs., this takes time, and the timing of the year isn't good either, we all have customers other then Bowtech repairs, Bowtech told us to step-up to the plate, I went onto say why isn't Savage Arms paying us for our time? He said they didn't reply.

He said back in January Hoyt had a minor cam problem, with every cam repair Hoyt paid each dealer $50 per repair. Also other bow manufractures have done the same.

Seems to me Bowtech isn't taking care of the dealers in a way they should be, and they are being rude about it.

I bought some arrows just to make up for the time spent, in my case.

If I were a dealer and had to do them no charge and not get paid back from Bowtech for my time, I would do the swaps in the slow period of the day or in between other clients. some times you do just have to "eat some labor".

We had an issue with Rotel audio equipment, had a bad run of mem ic's and had to resetup about 30 different clients systems, we didn't get paid for our repeat site visit. We remembered the money we made on the intial sale, and the margins are so good that it was alright. So if a bowtech dealer is undercutting his margins on selling the bows, then maybe they would feel a little cheated. I could see that.

You should never base a decision on 1 person's claim or post.

Last year a guy claimed that Bowtech wouldn't take care of him when he had a bow problem. When I had an issue with my bow Bowtech asked the shop to replace my bow with one off the shelf, send my bow back to them, and they'd replace the stock bow for him. There are 1000's of other stories just like mine about how good their service is.

If you want I'll contact theshop ownerI go through and ask him what goes on in his shop. He's done work for me for free that he could have charged for.

A buddy of mine just had his Matthews limbs replaced by a dealer for free. They did it while he waited in the shop and would do the same thing for the Bowtech's they sell. A lot of dealers realize that they make money off of the stuff that people buy when they come in as well as word of mouth and repeat customers. Selling over a $1000'sworth of equipment should be worth a hour or 2 of free service when an issue arises. if you want repeat customers you have to be willing to give knowledge for free and as a dealer you are backing a product by selling it.

x2 I've always shot Parker and have always had excellent service from both the Co. and the proshop. I'm at the point now when I go in for any kind of work that he doesn't charge me for labor - only parts. He does this for all of his loyal customers, regarless of bow. And he sells everything from Hoyt/Reflex, Bowtech, Diamond, Parker, and PSE.

Might I suggest here that even though it may seem that BowTech isn't compensating their dealers for the labor to swap out limbs, it's a perfect time for the dealers to sell more goods when they come into the store for service. I know that I usually buy something each time I'm in the shop and this might work out well for the dealers this close to hunting season

Another good point. Also remember gas stations don't make their cash selling gas, but rather on the items inside they get you to buy

Your not a bowtech shooter or dealer yet you feel like you have to come on here and drag them through the mud. I'd say leave it up to the dealer to handle the situation at hand and let themsign on here to complain if they wish.
