RE: MY biggest stingray

About 1 hour. Shot it at the duckblind way in the background. Killed most of the 100lb+ we boated close to that blind.

Custom Bowfishing Rod

Been bored with the cold weather. Made this from a Tuff Seat and 50-80lb class glass rod. Should be fun to try and fight cownose stingrays with it.

RE: New Jersey??

If you want to go from the bank the very best place is in a ditch next to the LAC Police Dept. If you have a boat the Deepwater Canal was where I did most of my NJ bowfishing. I've shot over 200 carp...

RE: New Jersey??

Carp and stingrays. Since I was 14. Almost 26 years ago. What part of New Jersey are you from. My bowfishing was around the Delaware Memorial Bridge as well as the Delaware Bay for cownose stingrays....

RE: Yes it's true...

I mean longnose, but our gar are pretty small, so without putting a piece of fuel line on the shaft behind the head you will shoot through most of them.

How big are the silvers now, and how big do they get? They look like fun for sure.

RE: Yes it's true...

Ifyou try and stop or fight a big carp in it wont take too many times to wear a groove in it enough that the roller won't catch. The Muzzy Extreme is the best 200lb dacron you can get, but will cut...

RE: Yes it's true...

Don't use it! It will cut a groove in the roller. Use 200lb dacron, 400lb Fast Flite or 500lb Power Pro.

RE: What do you use?

It is about the same or a little smaller than the 400lb Fast Flite. The wax coating from the factory can make it a little tough to get 25yds in the small bottle at first.

RE: What do you use?

This is my 25th year bowfishing. Lots of fun! I'm using a Slotted Retriever with a MudKat Line Guide on it, and 500lb Power Pro line. A great plus when you are using a Slotted Reel for all your...

RE: AMS Safety Slides

There is no way you will shoot a fish arrow over 250fps. They say not to shoot them above 145fps. With a 1200+gr fish arrow you will be alot slower than a hunting arrow. I use an epoxy rest myself...

RE: Aerial Bowfishing

I wish we had something other than common carp and goldfish where we hunt. Rays are fun, but at $3.10 a gallon fuel is killing me!

RE: Aim Low Stingrays

Only drawback here is the sharks are not that common. Had rough weather this weekend. Hardest 2 days I ever had for rays. Ended up with a 80lb southern and 36lb cownose though. Both really nice fish.

It took some time. I guess more getting someone to listen. There are not many bowfishermen in DE, so I guess it would not draw much attention.

RE: BOWFISHING LINE

The 135lb dacron that comes with the AMS is junk. By all means switch to the Muzzy. Any dacron, and even fast flite will fray with gar. I put a small piece of 1/4 rubber fuel line between the head...

RE: What am I missing regarding spincast/retriever?
