Go to the pro shop you usually go to, they might cut them down for free. Or they might charge you a few dollars. I can't see them charging you an arm and a leg to cut down arrows.

My mother had hers taken out. There was a little pain for the next couple days but it was just tender. You are going to have to watch what you eat after. Anything greasy will shoot right through you.
