RE: What do you use as a backstop ,practicing

No disrespect intended but if you sometimes miss a 2x2 bag you should probably move up a little and get more proficient at closer distances. Be patient and don't be in too big of a hurry to shoot at...

RE: Help with indoor shooting

The fat shafts you see probably are recommended sizes for their setups. Most any competetive indoor shooter uses them. I shoot 2413's indoors and they do help. I'd go bigger but they just look...

RE: mental concentration

Archery is 90% mental. That's always been the tough part for me. :)

RE: Drop Away rest question

They also help eliminate torgue problems with your bow hand. The arrows not in contact with the rest after the shot, so your bow hand is pretty much taken out of the picture.

RE: carbon arrows

Neither speed alone or weight alone = passthroughs. Speed + weight = kinetic energy which + shot placement = passthroughs. Usually the weight given up going to carbons is more than made up for with...

RE: TRU Ball release broke!

I never had a problem but I've spoken with the folks at Tru Ball and they're great. I'll bet they'll take good care of you.

RE: What would you do?

Gotta agree with Dave. Since a human is shooting the bow it should be tuned to the human shooting it. All paper tears aside a machine will throw arrows out of a grossly out of tune bow into the same...

RE: Help, I'm looking for

I can't find anything current on them. I still have last years Cabelas archery catalog and they carried them last year. Maybe a call to them would help find one.

RE: Mathews LXI maxed out at 65lbs??? Why

Check your brace height. That's most likely the culprit. When your cables stretch, you'll lose pounds.

I remember one called the Bear River crotch stand. Haven't seen them in a while. I'll look around.

My wife shoots fingers and I swear that every other time she shoots, I spend half an hour tweaking her peep. :)

RE: Peep Sight Problem ?

Not sure I understand. If you cableguard is adjusted correctly your cables should be out of the way unless your squeezing and twisting the bow. A relaxed bow hand will take care of that. Is your peep...

RE: Which vanes?

With the drop away rest you can put as much helical as you want. I like AAE 4" vanes. Tough, flexible, and quiet.

RE: First time shooting carbons... and I LOVE EM..

I just switched as well. Finally. I got CX300 3D Selects. I wanted to stay as straight as my XX78. I fletched with AAE 4". No appreciable difference in noise, but what an increase in speed. Kinda...

RE: Change Sight For Tree Stand?

Yep. Measure off the base of the tree. One of my favorite local 3D courses has a medium deer target 10 yards away but about 30 yards down a steep incline. More arrows are shot over that deers back...

RE: what do you shoot your broadheads into?

The Block won't hurt your broadheads, but your broadheads will hurt you block. It's a great target for fieldpoints, but broadheads destroy it fast. I use the Mcenzie for broadhead practice also, and...

RE: Will an UNTUNED bow Robinhood an Arrow?

I remember reading that early in his career, Terry Ragsdale shot a perfect or near perfect Vegas round to win. His arrows were porpoising wildly. When shot through paper afterward, he had a six inch...

RE: Wild Hog shot placement?

Toughest critter I ever hunted. Maybe the most fun too. Hunted em on the ground. Took 2 perfect double lung hits and still walking. Quartering away did the trick though.

RE: Speed of sound question. Need to settle a debate.

Bowhunting October Whitetails. Find it. Watch it. At 20 yds they go slow motion. They superimpose a white line on the deer's belly. You hear the shot, the deer instantly starts to crouch. When the...

RE: Tree stand theft???

It's a shame we have to worry about such things. I leave my climber chained to the base of the tree through bow season. Where I hunt, not too many guys walk around with bolt cutters.

ThunderHead 100's. As much as I want to try something different, I can't bring myself to mess with success. Looking hard at the Nitron's though.:)

RE: Morrell's 50,000+ bag target or the Block??

I have both and like both. The bag is super easy to pull your arrows out of and the block I like because I can put a regular 5 spot blue and white on. Best to stick to fieldpoints on the block...
