RE: Disadvantages of parallel limb technology?

I have to agree with this. Long risers with short parallel limbs are really damn ugly. I like my Extreme VFT but I don' t think it is pretty. I like it for its' performance. Did I say this bow...

RE: Disadvantages of parallel limb technology?

[quote]The VFT bows' limbs do not move forward much, so the arrow is propelled more by string movement than by limb movement. It would seem logical that a limb would be able to move forward with...

RE: Trophy Ridge Matrix shooters question

Both eyes open.

When the Sun is behind you, you cannot see the dots. You see the post so you have your top pin, but the bottom pins are not distinguishable. I use the nitro sticks during the...

RE: Where are the MA deer hunters???

I would like to hunt Zone 10 this year but have never hunted in eastern MA. I have always hunted in W. Mass. Anyone know of good open areas in Zone 10?

RE: what' s your best attribute??

For me it is being able to stalk very quietly and smell deer. Ants in the pants does not adequately describe me trying to post. I don' t think I can sit still for more than 5 minutes, unless I fall...

RE: What' s the closest you ever got to a deer while hunting?

I stillhunt/stalk for deer in New England. I can usually stalk to within 20 yards of deer. A good percentage of the time it is in the 10-15 yard range. On one occasion I came out of dense laurel,...

RE: MATRIX OR DEAD NUTS

I have the Trophy Ridge Matrix as well. I find the pins difficult to see. Especially when the sun is behind me - the dots just disappear and all I see is a big post. I have found I need to use the...

Navy,

I was editting my post when your response got posted. I took out my references to KE/momentum since that is a whole other discussion and fastflight1 really asked about TRU Balls. I...

RE: Anyone Use T.R.U Accelerator Balls?

I have never used one and would like to know how effective they are. I cannot imagine that they can achieve 12fps.

RE: FDC, What a difference it makes?

I am in the same category as Straightarrow. If the draw cycle peaks early I cannot pull the bow back. I can exert the most strength in the mid to later part of the cycle. Shoulder problems here as...

50lb draw, Bowtech VFT at 50 or 60lb limbs?

My new Bowtech Extreme VFT came into the dealer today. I ordered it with 50lb limbs since that is the max draw weight I ever shoot. When I tested an Extreme VFT off his rack a couple of weeks ago...

RE: WHo hunts with a bow, who hunt with a gun, and who hunts with both at one point?

Bow, shotgun and pistol. Muzzleloader this year as well. Will also hunt with a bow and gun at the same time due to the types of tags I have.

RE: i read an article, average deer hunter age is 42 and the future looks bleek, lets do our own pool!

I was brought up with a grandfather, uncles and cousins who always hunted. When young I was a vegetarian and anti-gun/anti-hunting. I started changing around my 30th birthday and at 31 I became a...

RE: Fastest bow at 50 pounds - Bowtech?

Wow!

So I would set up the bow with a whisker biscuit and peep and lose a bit of speed but should still be at 250+ fps. This is good news Shooter. I really appreciate the time you took to do...

RE: Fastest bow at 50 pounds - Bowtech?

Arthur,

I wasn' t tring to dismiss your guidance here. It is just that I don' t feel much discomfort when drawing 45-50lbs but I feel the strain while holding the bow at full draw. I' m sure...

RE: 2004 BOWTECH SPECS

That would be great! I am at 28.5" draw and 50# weight. I think I might wind up going downto a 28" draw. I use a peep, string loop and whisker biscuit. But we can adjust for these things.

...

RE: Fastest bow at 50 pounds

So based upon everyone' s replies and JeffB' s post on the 2004 Bowtechs, it looks to me like the Extreme VFT or the 2004 Patriot VFT, at least on paper, would be the main contenders in the Bowtech...

RE: " lubing" your cable rod?

After cleaning the guide rod and slide, lubricate them with powdered graphite. This will not gum up. This is what I have used for years on my bow. Graphite lubricant is used mainly on door locks...

RE: Fastest bow at 50 pounds

ArthurP,

I' m not that worried about the draw curve. I' m more worried about the holding force so the letoff is more critical for me.

So given that I can draw 50#, I am looking for the...

Fastest bow at 50 pounds - Bowtech?

RE: 2004 BOWTECH SPECS

So the Mightly Mite is 316fps at 30" draw while the Tech 29 is 314fps at 29" draw. At 29" the MM is 307. The MM looks more forgiving due to the A2A and brace height but I need to get every bit...

RE: 2004 BOWTECH SPECS

So what happened to the Tech-29? This was the bow I planned on getting after the current bow season. Seems to be the fastest short axle bow made.
