Though I prefer the design of the Dead Nuts better I have a hard time believing you are going to get brighter pins from the DN in comparison to the Matrix simply when considering the amount of fiber optic material used in each sight. However, if the problem is associated with the pins being stacked one behind another on the Matrix then the Dead Nuts might be just the ticket.

I have the Trophy Ridge Matrix as well. I find the pins difficult to see. Especially when the sun is behind me - the dots just disappear and all I see is a big post. I have found I need to use the glow sticks even during the day to overcome this.
I just purchased a Vital Bow Gear Trapper sight. This thing is extremely bright! No washout of pins in any light condition. In fact, the dots are sometimes too bright. I' m not sure of the size but the dots are about 3 times larger than the Matrix. I have not tried it yet in the dim legal hours but testing it in my driveway I had no problem seeing the pins more than 30 minutes after sunset.

Sounds like you may have a micro matrix - you can get new pins for that which will put you at .029 - that is about the same as the CJDN sight. I would just buy the new fiber for your sight if it was me. If you are using the LED from Trophy Ridge and are still having problems then I don' t know what to say - it really makes any of the pins stand out!
Honestly I can' t even think about hunting with a sight that dosn' t have Vertical Pins now. I really like them in the woods and for hunting. If you have a deer moving it is nice seeing the whole animal on your left & right side of the pin.
Good Luck! I hope you find a solution that works well for you. You might also want to consider a lens for your TR sight. You would have to send them the sight but they could set you up with a lens & that might help you see a little better if your eye sight is not up to par.
