Man, I have accummulated way too many essentials that I feel I need to have a successful hunt. I overpack everywhere I go, not just hunting, so I guess it' s no surprise. Anyone pack in more than me? And no, I' m not a chick!

1. Bow
2. climbing stand (with 2 side pockets for carrying gear)
3. Bow pull-up string
4. screw in bow holder
5. 2 way radio
6. grunt call
7. primos can bleat
8. fawn distress bleat
9. knife
10. fanny pack
11. Hunting license and permit
12. drivers license
13. ball point pen to fill out license
14. flashlight
15. windicator
16. chapstick (the most important item other than bow and stand)
17. deer drag
18. hand held limb pruner
19. GPS or cell phone depending on where I' m hunting
20. handkerchief
21. release

These are the items that I take out every time. Not counting my camo and other items such as rattlin horns & deer scent that I only take out occasionally. Anybody with more crap?

I left food and water off the list because I don' t carry them every time, but a range finder, hmm....I need one of those.

I have a similar list, but carry arrows as well which has greatly improved my success

geez thats a lot of crap. not all of it goes all the time but most of it does. I dont take much of it at all when im gun hunting though. You cant use it if you dont have it.

I' m glad it' s not just me. That looks like my junk. What ever I need is always on the bottom of the pack.

Its not how much stuff I have with me that gets me going. Its how much it all costs. Two years ago my brother and I hunted together on the opener. While walking home, we added up our gear. Over $2600. OUCH!!! And the ATV' s were at home. We had the $1600 video camera, and his bow was also at home. Man, I have to find hobbies that don' t cost as much.
