I shoot 115# for whitetails, and squirrels , and 125 - 130# for hogs, and elk.
IMO you can never have enough K.E.
All this from someone who stands knee high to a grass hopper[][:-]

70 lbs but may back it down to quiet it down some.

50# pound for Whitetail. Actually this year I am at 45#.

76 lbs. maxed out on a 70 lb. bow. i am comfortable with it and it gives me plenty of speed and energy. i know it gives me enough energy to punch through 2 elk shoulder blades, two elk lungs and everything elk inbetween. and deer.

cranked down tight at 63# but i will set it back a turn or so when it starts to get cold out brings it down to about 58#

60# warm weather, turn it down to 55# during cold weather. I shoot a cam 1/2
bow so it still has plenty of zip out to 30 yrds and switch to a cut on contact head
[ rocky ironhead 100 ] at 55#.

Had it at 68# but had to lower it because i messed up my shoulder this year. Now im shooting it at 50# (still strugle when its cold or im tired but it' s the lowest my bow will go)
