Default Rangefinder Question?

I am looking at buying another rangefinder. I already have a bushnell yardagepro 500, but I am interested in the yardage pro scout because of its size. Does anyone have any input, good or bad about the scout?
Also, if you have a scout, do you think it performs as well as the full sized models?

Any input would be appreciated, as I want to get one soon.

Thank`s

BC,

I don't have the scout but rather the sport model and I am very pleased with it. I used it extensively last season and do not have one complaint about it. The only "bad thing" that I have heard about teh scout is that is eats batteries up like there is no tomorrow. From what I hear, most folks are removing the batteries from the unit when they don't plan on using it.

...plus, this thread was almost ready to be bumped off the first page and nobody had replied to it...

..yep, that is it...a &quot;mercy post&quot;....<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Good luck with whatever you choose.

You done good PABowhntr! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Mitch,
Never saw this before. I'll attach a link to a post I made on Bushnell a few weeks ago.
http://forum.hunting.net/bbs/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=82962

I'll add that I REALLY like the size of the Scout. Fits in a shirt pocket. I like the Legend they upgraded me to,...but would never pay for the difference because I don't need &quot;waterproof&quot;! I have never owned a full sized model, but assume they are as good performance wise. Can't think of a reason they wouldn't be, except for possibly ranging distance. For us bowhunters,....700 yds is far enough!

Let me know if you have any more question. I'll check back on your post in a few days. For that matter just e-mail me.

Talk to you later

Thank`s for the replys! I have been told by Bushnell that the scouts battery problems have been fixed. I was more concerned about how well the little unit worked. After hearing that you guys liked them, I will be ordering one in...oh, about 2 minutes!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Thank`s Again

Forgot to add, Frank...mercy post! That`s good, I`ll take the help any way I can get it!

Twang...thank`s for the link, and when are you gonna be in Illinois? I am cutting my trip a little short this year. I`ll only be in Pike Co. from November 6th through November 21st. If you are gonna be out there during that time let me know. We might be able to do dinner one night and check up on what you are seeing!

One more thing... I ordered the camo scout for 277.85, if you guys know where I can get it cheaper, I have 24 hours to cancel.

Mitch,
Sounds like a good price to me on the Scout! I agree with everything Siskyou says. What suprises me is that I can hit a telephone line with the laser! The crosshairs are dead on with these things. Also I ranged a power box from my garage door at 278 yards up the road. Thats the number I got with the second Scout they sent me,..and the number I get with the Legend!!! They claim to have fixed the battery problem on the Scout from what they told me also. The problem was that they drain upon sitting.

Hey,..I'll be in Illinois from 11-2 thru 11-8. Hunting the 3rd thru the 8th. GEEZ,...I really feel bad you have to cut a 15 DAY trip to Illinois short!! I will be in Mt. Sterling. Do you know where that is? Is it near you? Here is the place I'm going with. http://www.antlerridgeacres.com/index.html
It would be great if we could hook up. It would pretty much have to be the 7th since the 8th is my last day and I'll be packing to leave early Saturday morning for Ohio. I'm splitting the drive by stopping off at my parents in Ohio. I think you have my e-mail but here it is again: [email protected]
