m00se,the north country is great country.I hunted out of a friends camp in the early 90's and took 200lb deer all but one year.It is really big country and nothing but big woods and cuts.I still hunt the big woods cause,I moved there I just spend my time a little south of the gate. Some would argue but once you get north of Bangor the woods can get real big.Come on up.Ron

Oh yea, big big woods there. 90 miles of undeveloped land there. No gas stations, food stores ect. If you go there I would highly suggest a GPS unit, some sort of communication like CB's, and a full tank of gas. Up there, there are not a lot of natural funnels, ect. I always hunted out of the Allagash Guide Sevice. He is located right on the St. John's river, near where the Allagash and St. John come together. Sean has some great prices and the food that Kelly maked is incredible. I always brought my shotgun up there and hunted partidge for one day out of the hunt. There is an aweful lot of birds there. I took my limit every time I went out. I also took a great canoe trip down the Allagash river.
