Daily, unless your friends other pins are further than 70 yds you can bet he shoots better with them. That might be possible if he has target panick at 20 and somehow is not a factor at 70 yds but seems real unlikely to me.

I practic out to 60 and am sighted to 70. I took my Best mule deer in AZ open scrub/desert at 70yrds.

RE: Long Range Practice
I'll practice from 70yrd just to break up the route. 2 shots at 30, 2 at 50, 2 at 70, then 2 at 20.
Did you know that the English archers where accurate at hitting a standing man at 250 yrds and the Great Khan of the Mongols, better known as Genghis Khan taught his men to use composite bows (70 - 160 lb. draw weight) and released the bowstring with a thumb ring that increased the killing range of the bow to 275 metres (300 yards.) The maximum range of their bows was about 550 metres (600 yards).

RE: Long Range Practice
I usually practice at 30 to 50 yards. It is better to practice at varying ranges(especially when using a peep sight) because your anchor point will change slightly when going from changing from 20 to 40 yards. Now that I have switched to the No-Peep I do most of my shooting from 50 to 60 yards. I like shooting from 50 to 60 yards with broadheads as this will really show any flaw in your form or release resulting in poor broadhead flight.

RE: Long Range Practice
I used to practice out to 60yds now i practice from 20 to 40yds. It is weird though i notice a lot of times my pattern is better at 40 than 20 but i think that its all mental......
i have only shot at a deer once about 50 yds and i missed it clean but that was a long time ago when i was young and full of the old i can hit anything attitude, now i only shoot when i feel it is a good ethical shot........
Hunting with a bow brings about a different challenge on every hunt!!!
