First Bow Kill???
#41
22 years later on the SAME day (Oct. 4th) I shot this Buck on the same farm within 100 yds. of my 1st Bowkill with a Darton Compound, Aluminum Arrow tipped with a Rocky Mountain 3 Blade Razor at 18 yds & went 30 yds.
I had only hunted this property one other time since my 1st Bowkill because it was 1 1/2 hours from where I lived &I had good Bowhunting within 15 min. of my home.
I haven't Bowhunted it since-maybe I should.....

Mine was a whitetail doe, 20 yards quartering away. Not a very good shot, but she only went about 50 yards and bedded down. Went thru the liver, and got some guts too. I waited in my stand for about 15 minutes, and got down to check my arrow, and when I did, I looked out and saw the tall grass moving, but no deer. I backed out, and went back about an hour later, and she was dead. It all happened so fast, didnt even have time to get worked up.[8D]

Don't remember the year, but the hunt took place on a warm foggy morning and I was hunting a field edge but with the heavy fog and wet ground with water dripping off the leaves I decided to try a little stealth hunting through the woods toward some acorn trees I knew of.I start out on a slow pace and after about 30 minutes I spot a buck and 2 does feeding under the acorn trees, and the stalk was on.I placed a huge tree between me and the deer in an attempt to get closer with my goal to reach the tree and then try for a shot.It must have took me 10 minutes to cover the 25 yards, but when I did I peeked around the tree and decided to try for the buck so I draw and take m shot.My arrow hit a small limb and it was thrown high and nailed the buck in the spine where he piled up instantly. The does did not know what was going on and one of them ran right to me at about 5 steps while the other one circled around looking for the danger.I had to finish off the buck with my knife. He was a basket rack 5 point, and was about 35 yards with a golden eagle bow and easton 2213 arrows and a wasp broadhead 130 grns.Man I was so happy I thought I would bust.

Mine was a feral hog. A boar that weighed about 125 lbs with a small set of cutters.I shot it in August of 05 with an Alpine Impact X-treme. It was a hunt I will never forget and one that sealed my fate. I became a BOWHUNTER FOR LIFE that day.
