I listed my first deer. My first bow kill was a possum that was getting into the trash. Man those things are mean. Pinned him to the ground with the shot but not for long. Shot him from couple feet. LOL nasty oversized rodent.

[ul][*]7pt. buck- first time drawing on a deer,[*]used a browning nomad III. couldn't even tell you the type of arrow or broadhead. Think it was aluminum & Muzzy's.[*]felt sorry for him. back then the bow made so much noise, he jumped the string. The arrow went thru the back or the R rear leg, pierced his scrotum & into the other leg. must have cut a artery. He went about a 100 yds. found him the next day. [*]don't understand though, when I shot at him, I'd swear his rack was 30" across & 10 high. Those darn antlers deflated to a little basket rack. [/ul]

1966 in the river bottoms north of Peoria, Illnois. Shot a whitetail doe with an oldHerter's recurve and a Herter's port oxford cedar arrow tipped with a Bear razorhead if I remember right.

What was your first bow kill and what was it with?
Mine was in 1961 a cotton tail rabbit taken with a hand me down recurve that was given to me for my 5th birthday a few weeks before.

Mine was a Illinois corn fed doe about 160 lbs., at roughly 20-25 yrds..I was using a 55 lb.BearGrizzly recurve and I can't remember what year it was but it had to be around 1973 or 1974. Thanks for the memories!
