Not all companies necessarily want to be the biggest, many of them concentrate on simply being the best, and selling products to a smaller market of serious hunters (willing to spend $$$ on superior stuff).
If they didn't want to grow they wouldn't be at every ATA show, Shot show, etc... trying to get newdealers to carry their products. They wouldn't be selling it on the webnation wide. Not many dealers are going to make the plunge when there is no marketing support from the manufacturer.

They don't have to sell to the mass Cabelas and Walmarts but if they aren't marketing and advertising then even the small mom and pop stores aren't going to be willing to carry their items because they aren't going to move them.

I talked to ASAT at this years ATA show and really tried to get ASAT in our two stores but none of the others responsible for buying wanted to go with them simply because there is no marketing support. I know it is a superior camo and so do the others working here but without manufacturer advertising support it will sit on our shelves for years.

In my experience, the companies that were started by "Salesman" are typically advertising and marketing driven. Not saying they may not have a great product, but "numbers" are the focus.
Salesmen make money. What's wrong with marketing the product that you produce. Isn't that the point???????? Don't you want to move numbers of product and make money? If not then why be in business?

If I have a great product that is superior to others on the market (which is the case here) then why wouldn't i want to get it into as many hunters hands as possible?

I'm proud to have Gray Wolf Woolens as a sponsor of our video production. The reason I'm sponsored by Gray Wolf is because I simply won't wear anything else.
I would be proud as well becasue they make absolutely superior clothing. But, and don't take this the wrong way, How many people know who you are and know who Gray Wolf Woolens is? Unfortunately not too many.

That's too bad -ASAT makes such a great product. I just got theirpromotional DVD last week - it is pretty well done, but not quite like the Double Bull one. One thing I almost couldn't believe was a segment of the video that was a tribute to Fred Bear. The guy in the DVD had a bow actually used by Fred Bear and shot a large black bear with that bow on tape. Only problem was that he shot it from a Double Bull blind!! This segment did nothing to enhance my appreciation for the ASAT product, and actually promoted their competitor.

There were also some questionable shots taken on that DVD - quartering on shots on elk - one elk is shot facing the hunter, and he able to find the heart from the front - but I really questioned where I would have taken such an iffy shot - particularly when a little patience would have most likely resulted in a broadside opportunity.

I think these folks need some professional marketing consultants. Their product, as stated.is great.

I have narrowed my search down to Gray Wolf Woolens or Sitka Gear. The good thing is they both can do ASAT! The other this is that GWW does Predator Deception Brown and SG does Mountain Mimicry. The MM camo looks a bit better than Natural Gear.
I would like to see some side by side comparisons with these open patterns. I have seen ASAT and Predator against MO, RT just not compared to each other. If anyone has the ability to provide some photos of these in color, B&W in the woods (not in a shadow!) that would be great!
I believe that several users would benefit from this.
Thanks,
BSLugnut

i think they are both great patterns but I prefer the deception. I get it on my blinds and my clothing. I wish they would put it on more bows

I like predator but they don't make the Spring Green or Fall Grey in a hot suit that I could use in FL so I went with ASAT 3D Leafy. I just received my 3D Leafy today and I plan to try it out tonight.

Does anyone from Gray Wolf woolens ever attend the sportsman show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania??

I'm really considering some stuff from them, but would really like to put my hands on some of their clothes first. I guess i'm spoiled with having a cabela's not too far now. I just got some fall grey from cabela's at a really good price, but its my least favoritefabric and styles (not pattern) of all my camo.

Gregg and Todd and any other loyal gray wolf customers would you recommend the wool or wolfskin??

Thanks.............

Yes, Jeff with Grey Wolf Wollens was side by side with Chuck from Enigma Camo...both using Wolf skin...at the Harrisburg Sports Show this past year. I bet they will both be back next year.

Honestly, Wolfskin is a incredible material but so is wool and it really depends on your the climates your going to hunt. I know 'iamyourhuckelberry) hunted elk in a snow storm, he wore double layered Wolfskin in Engima with underlayers and was warm and bone dry.

I love ASAT camo!!! I just received mine yesterday and I had the wife take a quick picture of me before we headed to dinner last night.

Stuff works pretty good in my opinion.
