The reason you don't see any of these camo patterns in stores is because NONE of them market their product like Mossy Oak and RealTree. None of them are on the Outdoor Channel, None of them have full page ads in magazines, None of them have famous hunters using their product, etc... etc... etc... The only place I have everseen ASAT or Predator on televison is on Double Bull Outdoors...

I never see Predator, ASAT, Skyline, Sticks and Limbs, or any of the other open pattern camo companies anywhere except for small 1/8th page ads in magazines andI get a bunch of magazines sent here.

I would LOOOOOVE to stock ASAT and Predator here but very very few people know about it and I never have any one ask for it.

ASAT and Predator, if you are listening.......
SPEND SOME MONEY ON ADVERTISING AND MARKETING and we'll stock it!!!!!!!!!

I know this sounds a little brash but if the consumers don't see it advertised every where they aren't going to buy it. Regardless of how well it works. Take a page out of Mathews book.

I know. As a rep. I wish this also. You are absolutely correct.

i like the predator, best thing for persons in the west still hunting mostly open country....but i really wish they would put it in a better pair of pants.....the pants they have now are not ideal for a july or august archery hunt in CA....just my 2cents....
Check out the new Predator line up on their website, they have a new suit for hot weather hunting....

Greg,

I have the Gray Wolf wool vest and wool pants. I'm in the market for a good wind breaker fleece pullover. I noticed Day One has exactly what I'm looking for. How does Day One compare to Gray Wolf in terms of quality and the actual color of the Fall Gray?

Joel,

I've never used Day One's stuff, but obviously have heard great things about the company.

Jeff at Gray Wolf now has in his Northwoods LIne a fleece sweathsirt, available in both pullover and zip-front...

Not all companies necessarily want to be the biggest, many of them concentrate on simply being the best, and selling products to a smaller market of serious hunters (willing to spend $$$ on superior stuff).

In my experience, the companies that were started by "Salesman" are typically advertising and marketing driven. Not saying they may not have a great product, but "numbers" are the focus.

Other companies are started by "engineer" minded people who concentrate on product development, design, etc... Often times, this is the difference in how a consumer may view a corperate stratagy anyway. If you can provide a superior product or service and make good money doing it, you're often better-off staying small and profitable, compared to dropping you're pants to get into the big box stores, and go after the mass-market. This is just an opinion of-course!

I'm proud to have Gray Wolf Woolens as a sponsor of our video production. The reason I'm sponsored by Gray Wolf is because I simply won't wear anything else. The best fabric / construction / and "fit" of any clothing I've ever used, and I've used plenty! I made a joke to Jeff Aulik at Gray Wolf when we first started talking about a sponsorship that if he didn't sponsor us, I would simply not have a clothing sponsor because once you've hunted with Gray Wolf gear, nothing else even comes close!

They are both excellent.Find the material that you prefer in either one of these Camo's and go with it.Hard to beat Wolfskin from Grey Wolf Woolens,(predator patterns).ASAT is now available from Sitka gear, which is using state of the art fabrics.Enigma should get a look as well because the use of wolfskin and their pricing relative to Grey Wolf Woolens, custom made clothing from Enigma in wolfskin that is significantly less money.Having said that the best made hunting clothing I own is Grey Wolf Woolens.

But I will say that the original Predator pattern all looks the same in black and white regardless if it is spring green, fall brown, fall grey or the blaze orange pattern they once offered. The different colours are for marketing reasons only which makes good business sense. If animals are truely colour blind then the colours are for us.. As a test just take any predator image from their website or the gray wolf website and convert it to black and white.. The interesting thing is that Predator Camo doesn't deny this, I sent them an email asking why all the colours for the original pattern and they just said it's because that is what the customer wants. No unjustified product claims just giving the people what they want.
Followed my writing, eh? I've been saying the same thing for years...

What some of ya'll need to remember is that deer DO NOT only see exclusively in B&W...monochramitic vision but also see in shades of blues and yellows, or dichromatic....http://www.atsko.com/T15.html , http://www.enigmacamo.com/test_photos.htm .....

I then ask this question, if they are all the same then why all the patterns? Yup, marketing....but I have to say this, The Fall Brown IMO is thier best pattern and have worn it through the winter season, spring seasons etc.

Having the opportunity to own them all, IMO ASAT has performed for me better than Predator but I wouldn't hesitate buying Predator again, in fact if my current pattern didn't exist, I'd be exclusively Predator because of where I feel ASAT is currently at.

ALSO, IMO a Leafy pattern far out performs standard camo and I would LOVE to see Fall Brown in leafy.
