This is for anyone that uses the old discs, I have at least a couple hundred unopened that I will give to anyone willing to pay shipping. I bought up a bunch before converting my gun and have had them in storage. Just an offer.

It showed up today. A Knight Disc .50 caliber. So I watched the video and cleaned it all up. Since there were no orange disc I could not shoot it.. [
] But I read the manual twice. I have some high hopes for the rifle. They were doing some impressive shooting on the video with this model. Hope I can do as well...

So it is the older model with orange disc?
We then went over the serial number, model numberand many other things. Hetold me that it was the older model, but not to despair as they were all great shooting rifles. He told me he actually liked the older orange disc better then the new ones as he felt they were easier to handle with cold fingers, and that they were and are, very water resistant. I told him I was more then pleased with the rifle. He then asked whether I had the video and manual for the rifle, which I did.
He then said he would mail me a C-tool and also 20 orange discs to get me started. He also said he would get them in the mail that afternoon so they would get posted right away. We also suggested a few possible loads to get me started. He offered to explain in detail how to get started but I explained I had other muzzleloaders and was able to figure this one out. He said I could reload those disc approximately three times. Which means they should last me for one outing....
That technicaland customer support offered by Knight is the reason why people really need to look close at the brand of rifle they purchase. Knight as always, took the extra effort to make sure my experience with the rifle will be a good one.
This rifle came off an auction site. It was new in the box as promised and really is an excellent rifle. For the price I got this rifle for, I am more then pleased. Others felt that I really did not need another rifle but since I do not value their opinion in such matters that really makes no difference...
Now we are waiting for the discs and them we will go to that shooting bench and give it a try.

I've got a feeling you are gonna love it....Like the tech said...I prefer the older discs, they are easy to load and unload and I do keep mine to reuse...if your loads get too "hot" the disc will let you know...I also love the adjustable trigger I just have to have a good trigger and the extra screw safety is nice also....when I get in my stand all I have to do is unscrew this safety...which is quiet...and I'm good to go....
My Knight Disc is what is standing in the way of getting an Omega...
I want a longer barrel for higher velocities, but...I love an adjustable trigger....I've decided to hang on to the Knight for at least this season,
with my current loading I'm comfortable to 150 yards....10-15 years ago I wouldn't have thought about that range with a muzzleloader...
It does take a few more minutes to remove and clean the bolt but after doing a few times its no big deal....My brother bought a Knight Disc with a 26 inch barrel the year before the Omega came out....He is the type to buy newer and bigger every few years...That might be my next "new" muzzleloader....Frankly I think Knight was crazy to quit making the original disc rifles....Let us know how she shoots...
Good Luck

He was right. The orange discs just drop in. They all shoot about the same. Good news is you can change to No.11 with that type of gun pretty easy I think.

Also this idea of magnum loads, I have magnum muzzleloaders and I have yet towork up a Magnum load. Granted if I were going out west for Antelope, I might see if the Black Diamond XR could shootthreepellets well with a 200 grain Shockwave, just for the sake of the extra, flatter trajectory. But I really think too much is put into 150 grain charges. Most of my riflesI shoot right around 100 grainsand they blow right through anything I shoot at so far.
It is strange like you say, that they have a great rifle and then change it. Knight's Wolverine was THE rifle to own manyyears back. Everyone wanted a Wolverine with the 22" barrel. They must have sold tons of them. I have one and it is without doubt an excellent shooting rifle. I am sure this Disc will be as good or better. I am not going to scope it so I can use it during the muzzleloader season in the event of rotten weather (which is normally the case). I really am looking forward to shooting the rifle.
