Not honoring both a experience and a dead animal isn't a good thing, but when he gets older I'll bet he might take it back. Be a pity for it to fall apart.
BTW, if you took a picture to a Taxidermist of a buck could he work of that? Suppose he'd miss the ears, but...? And finally, do taxidermist sell mounts to people who didn't originally order them?
