I like to hunt my best stand for three days, then alternate to another. I try to give a stand a least a week in between, so as not to " overhunt" my stands.

I have several stands but I do have my favorites also. If I am ' made' in a stand, I will not hunt it again for several weeks. Also if an old doe ‘makes’ me, I try to take her as she will almost always give you away any time she returns. This does not mean I move out the area. I am lucky to be able to hunt on private property that I have control over and to be able to have a lot of permanent stands. Being in this kind of situation allows me to have several stands up at once. Good luck! -- CDH

There are 7 trees stands and 1 ground blind on my property. While I have my favorite spots I try to move around so I don`t wear out a location.

It depends. I have a stand on an eighty acre pievce sanwiched between three developments. Last year I killed six deer from the same stand. (We need eight deer to have enough venison to last the year) I believe the year before the number was the same. To reference another thread, I gutted all of them within 100 yards of that tree. That is very unusual though. As a rule, I hunt the stand four or five times and then hunt another location for a while. I am waiting another week to go back for that eight point white buck I wrote about. I hunted him three times in a row. I just kind of fel it when I am overdoing an area.

With gun depending on how large of an area I can cover from my stand I may hunt a stand 3 days in a row, if I am hunting with a bow usually only twice a week. There are exceptions to this however, in areas where the deer have large tracts of land with plenty of food sources through out it, deer do not have a daily routine, they may have a 2-3 day routine. They may only pass through an area once every 2-3 days, as a result hunting a stand 3 days in a row can and will pay off.
